Enrollment Procedures

Thank you for your interest in St. George’s Kindergarten and Mother’s Day Out. We know that choosing a preschool is a very important decision, and we are grateful that you are considering St. George’s for your child’s early education.

Please note the following enrollment procedures:

  • Applications for enrollment will be accepted September 1st through December 15th of the year prior to anticipated enrollment (example: Applications for enrollment in the 2017-2018 school year will be accepted between September 1 and December 15, 2016).
  • A non-refundable $75 application fee must accompany each application.
  • Any application received after the December 15th deadline will be placed at the end of the wait list.
  • Students completing the MDO program do not have to reapply for the Kindergarten program. They are automatically placed in the Kindergarten application pool.
  • The Enrollment Committee meets the 2nd week of January to fill enrollment for the following school year. Acceptance and wait list letters will be sent to all applicants.
  • The wait list will be cleared at the end of each school year. Students previously on the wait list, but not yet accepted to the program, must reapply.

Enrollment Priorities & Wait List

  • Current students will have first priority for space in the next program level for the following year.
  • Is the applicant a child of a Member of St. George's Episcopal Church (the "Church")? If there are more children of Church members applying than there are spaces available, parental membership status and other factors relating to the parents will be considered, including, but not limited to, length of Church membership, degree of commitment of time, talent, and resources to the Church, and previous relationship to and involvement in the Kindergarten.
  • Does the applicant have a sibling who is a current student?
  • Does the applicant have a sibling who is a former student?

School Tours

Tours are given by appointment only. Due to the school schedule, we are not able to give tours in May, December or June-August.

2017-2018 Application (Fall of 2017)

2018-2019 Applications will be available online on September 1, 2017 and will be accepted until December 15, 2017.

Church Membership

Because it is an outreach of St. George’s Episcopal Church (the “Church”), the Kindergarten has a policy that gives all Church Members (Voting and Non-Voting) priority during the admission process and gives parents who are Voting Church Members a tuition discount for the Three, Four, and Five Year Old Programs.
A person becomes a Non-Voting Church member by one of the following means:

  • by being baptized at the Church (and not subsequently transferring membership to another church); or
  • by formally transferring membership from another church of any Christian denomination; or
  • by registering baptism information with the Church office. (This is done when a person’s previous church will not transfer membership outside of its own denomination, or if an official church membership cannot be located. This often happens with Catholic churches and some other denominations).

A person becomes a Voting Church Member by one of the following means:

  • by being “confirmed” or “received” at the Church; or
  • by formally transferring membership from another Episcopal church having been previously “confirmed” or “received” into the Episcopal church.

Please note that the Church uses different terminology to describe categories of membership, but we have used “Non- Voting Church Member” and “Voting Church Member” to assist with wider understanding by those who are not so familiar with Church terms. If you are still uncertain of your membership status after reading this, please contact the Parish Secretary, Rebecca Teel, at rebecca.teel@stgeorgesnashville.org or 615-385-2150 (ext. 213).
